La primera vez, la segunda oportunidad, el tercer hombre, la cuarta pared, el quinto elemento… y la sexta mirada.

No es casual que los árbitros corran en diagonal. El camino recto no es sólo el más corto entre dos esquinas, sino también el más rico, el más original, el más fértil. Córdoba es una ciudad proclive a recibir miradas verticales, horizontales, lejanas, solitarias, distantes. Pero existe otra mirada, tal vez ésta que denominamos sexta, que se empeña en afinar la puntería y encontrar un aluvión de tesoros ocultos, de luces nuevas, de gestos distintos.

Sobre Córdoba se derraman miradas seculares, contaminadas de tópicos y prejuicios, de frases hechas, de miopías consentidas. Pero ya sabemos que el pecado está en la mirada, no en el acto, por lo que nos proponemos limpiar los cristales, traspasar los escaparates y comenzar a ver la realidad desde una óptica nueva, desde un punto de vista inédito.

La exposición “Córdoba, la sexta mirada” se propone afrontar este reto atendiendo a las expresiones artísticas más relevantes, más revolucionarias, más rebeldes. No es ingenuo sospechar que esta ciudad alberga no sólo un sexto sentido sino también una posibilidad estimulante de mostrarse a esos ojos que sepan cómo mirarla desde otras perspectivas.

Por supuesto que no encontramos mejor manera de diseñar esta aventura que acudiendo a todos esos creadores que caminan y construyen la ciudad cada día. Si se dice que en Córdoba se puede escuchar el silencio, no es menos cierto que a Córdoba se la puede soñar con los ojos abiertos. Así son los ojos, las miradas, las intenciones, de artistas como Esteban Ruiz, Luís Calvo, Pepe Puntas, Otes, Hisae Yanase, Manuel Bautista, Dani Palacios y Ángel García Roldán. Ocho miradas que nos descubren los sentidos latentes, los recuerdos ocultos, ocho artistas que se sitúan junto al espectador para sentir y crear a su lado múltiples elementos de comunicación activa, para propiciar su curiosidad, para contribuir a la construcción de un nuevo imaginario colectivo de la ciudad, para establecer en definitiva, un imprescindible diálogo entre el autor y el público.

“Córdoba, la sexta mirada” propone un modelo de miradas transversales que huyan del inmovilismo de los espacios habituales de exposición para situarse en otros más refrescantes, inciertos, peligrosos: espacios en los que aceptar sus propios condicionantes resulte un estímulo creativo, que busquen nuevos públicos, que dirijan sus esfuerzos hacia otros desarrollos posibles y hacia la multiplicidad de expresiones artísticas.

The first time, the second opportunity, the third man, the fourth wall, the fifth element... and the sixth perspective.

It is not by chance that referees run diagonally. A straight line is not only the shortest distance between two corners, but also the richest, the most original and the most fertile. Cordoba is a city which tends to be seen from vertical, horizontal, distant and solitary perspectives. But there is another, possibly what we call the sixth, which is determined to delve deeper and discover a world of hidden treasures, new lights and different gestures.

Cordoba is seen from secular perspectives contaminated with clichés and prejudice, with set phrases and consent short-sightedness. But we know that the sin is in the perspective, not in the act, so we intend to clean our glasses and start to see reality from a new, unprecedented viewpoint.

The “Cordoba, the sixth perspective” exhibition intends to face this challenge by promoting the most significant, revolutionary and rebellious artistic expressions. Not in vain do we suspect that the city not only has a sixth sense, but also a stimulating opportunity to reveal itself to eyes who know how to look at it from another perspective.

Evidently, there is no better way of designing this adventure than by seeking the creators who construct the city on a daily basis. They say that you can hear the silence in Cordoba and it is no less true that you can dream of Cordoba with your eyes open. Such are the eyes, the perspectives and the intentions of artists such as Esteban Ruiz, Luís Calvo, Pepe Puntas, Otes, Hisae Yanase, Manuel Bautista, Dani Palacios and Ángel García Roldán; eight perspectives which discover latent senses and hidden memories, eight artists who join the spectator to create multiple elements of active communication, enhancing his curiosity, helping to build a new collective imagination in the city, and ultimately establishing a fundamental dialogue between the author and the public.

“Cordoba, the sixth perspective” proposes a model of transversal perspectives which flee from the immobilism of usual exhibition venues towards other, more refreshing, uncertain and dangerous places; spaces where to accept their conditions results in creative stimulation, seeking new publics, other possible developments and a plurality of artistic expressions.
